Webinar: ‘Same’ Campus, Different Student: Are Universities Ready?

Updated: Aug 24, 2020

COVID-19 caused significant disruption to teaching and learning in spring 2020, leading to an unprecedented move to online classes for U.S. colleges and universities. While faculty and students were adjusting to this new mode of engagement, the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor pushed the topic of racial injustice to the forefront of the nation’s media. The following months brought protests and racial discourse unseen since the 1960s. The current generation of college students has never experienced this level of social unrest in their lifetimes, yet they have taken the lead in many demonstrations around the country despite the pandemic. These students are more aware, more vocal, and more critical of actions and words that could be seen as apathetic to race and justice. As campuses make radical changes to their instructional environment, institutions must also prepare to engage with a very different student in Fall 2020.

Join us as Tarragona Associates brings together a panel of Higher Ed thought leaders to discuss how campuses can prepare their administrations, faculty, and staff for the return of activist students, ready to continue their protests and demands for racial and social justice.
